WordPress Development: Custom Themes & Plugins
Learn to build custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch, beyond page builders and templates.
About This Course
Syllabus PDFThis course teaches WordPress development the way professional agencies actually build sites: custom themes and custom plugins built with PHP, not just drag-and-drop page builders. You'll learn the WordPress template hierarchy, the Loop, custom post types, and the plugin API.
You'll build a complete custom theme for a small business site and a custom plugin that adds a booking system, giving you experience with both the front-end presentation layer and back-end functionality that WordPress developers are hired to build.
This course is designed for developers who already know basic HTML, CSS, and some PHP, and want to specialize in WordPress as a freelance or agency skill set that remains in consistent demand.
By the end, you'll be able to build a WordPress site entirely from a custom theme, extend WordPress functionality with your own plugins, and confidently take on client WordPress projects.
